The Nirogi Haryana Yojana — which stands for New Initiative for Robust and Good Health in Haryana — was officially launched on November 29, 2022, from Kurukshetra. The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, launched this scheme in the presence of the Haryana Governor and the Chief Minister.
This is not just another scheme on paper. Haryana became the first state in India to conduct large-scale comprehensive health checkups for Antyodaya families on this level. Under the Nirogi Haryana Yojana, the government sends health teams directly to your area — you do not have to run to any hospital or government office to register yourself.
The goal is simple: catch diseases early, treat them for free, and keep every family in Haryana healthy.

What Problem Does This Scheme Solve?
Let’s be honest about the ground reality. Most poor families in Haryana avoid going to doctors — not because they don’t care about their health, but because:
- Cost is too high. A single blood test panel at a private lab can cost ₹500–₹2000. For a family earning ₹10,000–₹15,000 a month, that’s not easy.
- Diseases are caught too late. Sugar, blood pressure, thyroid, kidney issues — these are silent killers. Most people find out only when the problem is already serious.
- Distance and time are barriers. Going to a government hospital means half a day off work, travel cost, long queues — and many people just don’t go.
- No health records. Most poor families have zero documented health history, which causes problems during treatment.
The Nirogi Haryana Yojana addresses all of these problems directly. Free checkups, at or near your home, with digital records saved for future use, and free treatment if any disease is found.
Who Can Apply?
The Nirogi Haryana Yojana is open to residents across Haryana — no caste or religion restriction. However, priority is given to Antyodaya families.
Basic eligibility criteria:
- Must be a permanent resident of Haryana
- Family’s annual income must be ₹1,80,000 or less (as verified in Family ID / Parivar Pehchan Patra)
- Any age group — from newborns to senior citizens
- Any caste, religion, or community
Good news: You do not have to apply separately. The government health team will come to your area and conduct the checkup. Your Family ID (PPP) is the key document that identifies you as eligible.
What Do You Get?
Under the Nirogi Haryana Yojana, beneficiaries get age-specific free health checkups. The population has been divided into 6 age categories, each with specific tests:
Category | Age Group | Tests Provided |
Category 1 | 0 – 6 months | Hemoglobin (Hb) |
Category 2 | 6 months – 5 years | Hemoglobin (Hb) |
Category 3 | 5 – 18 years | Hb, Blood Sugar (FBS/RBS), Urine Routine |
Category 4 | 18 – 40 years | CBC, Blood Sugar, Cholesterol, Blood Urea, Creatinine, Urine Routine |
Category 5 | 40 – 60 years | All of above + TSH (Thyroid), PSA, VIA/PAP Smear |
Category 6 | 60+ years | All of above + TSH (Thyroid), PSA, VIA/PAP Smear |
In total, 25+ different medical tests are available across categories.
Additionally:
- If any disease is found during the checkup → free treatment by specialists
- Digital health records are saved for future reference
- Mobile Medical Units are deployed in your area to make it even more accessible
- Children in schools and anganwadis are also covered
- Workers at industrial areas, brick kilns, construction sites, and slums are included
Since this scheme works on a door-to-door model and your Family ID data is already with the government, documentation is minimal:
- Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra / PPP) — Most Important
- Haryana Domicile / Residence Proof
- Aadhaar Card (for identity verification)
- Mobile Number (for communication and updates)
- Passport-size photo (if required at health camp)
Note: Your Family ID must have correct and verified income details (≤ ₹1,80,000 annually). If your income is not updated in PPP, you may face issues. Update it first before the checkup team arrives.
How to Apply — Step by Step
The Nirogi Haryana Yojana does not have a traditional online application process. Here is how it actually works:
Step 1 — Health team visits your area The Haryana Health Department sends trained health workers and doctors to your village, ward, or locality. This is scheduled by the government, not by you.
Step 2 — Registration at the health camp When the team arrives, they register Antyodaya family members using their Family ID data. A separate queue is maintained for Antyodaya beneficiaries — no mixing with general patients.
Step 3 — Physical examination Trained health staff conduct a complete physical and systemic examination based on your age category.
Step 4 — Lab tests Blood, urine, and other tests are conducted based on your age group (25+ tests available as per the official list above).
Step 5 — Results and treatment If all results are normal — great, records are saved digitally. If any disease or health issue is detected — you are immediately referred for free specialist treatment at the nearest government health institution.
Step 6 — Mobile Medical Units (if needed) If you cannot travel even to a local health center, Mobile Medical Units are brought directly to your area.
Most Important Step Before Applying
This is the step most people miss — and it’s the one that determines whether you actually benefit from Nirogi Haryana Yojana or not.
Your Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra) must be:
✅ Active and verified ✅ Showing annual income of ₹1,80,000 or less ✅ Correctly listing all family members (including children and elderly) ✅ Linked to correct mobile number
If any of this is wrong or outdated in your PPP, the health team may not identify you as an Antyodaya beneficiary, and you could miss the free checkup and treatment.
Fix your Family ID first. Everything else follows automatically.
Application / Scheme Status
There is no individual application status tracker for Nirogi Haryana Yojana since it is a government-initiated camp-based program. However, you can:
- Check your Family ID status at: meraparivar.haryana.gov.in
- Contact your local health center (PHC/CHC) to ask when the next camp is scheduled in your area
- Visit official Health Department page: haryanahealth.gov.in/nirogi
- Check with Anganwadi worker or ASHA worker in your village — they are the ground-level link for this scheme
- The Nirogi Haryana Yojana is completely free — no fee at any step
- Checkup is done once every 2 years per beneficiary
- Haryana is the first state in India to do this at such a large scale
- If you are found sick during the camp → treatment is also free, not just the checkup
- Children at schools, anganwadis, and industrial workers are also covered
- Health records are saved digitally — keep your mobile number active to receive updates
- This scheme is run by the Haryana Health Department — not by any private party
- Do not pay money to anyone claiming to register you — the process is government-run and free

The Nirogi Haryana Yojana is a free health checkup and treatment scheme launched by the Haryana government on November 29, 2022. Under this scheme, Antyodaya families get free medical tests (25+) and free treatment if any disease is found — all conducted at or near their homes.
No. There is no online or offline application required. The government's health team visits your area directly. Your Family ID (PPP) data is used to identify eligible beneficiaries. Just make sure your Family ID is updated and shows income of ₹1,80,000 or less.
If you live in Haryana and your family's yearly income is ₹1,80,000 or less — you are eligible. Simple as that. It doesn't matter which caste you belong to, which religion you follow, or how old you are. A newborn baby and a 70-year-old grandparent — both are covered. The only real condition is that this income must be verified in your Family ID. If it's not updated there, fix that first.
You can get the free checkup once every 2 years. So it's not a one-time thing — if you get checked in 2024, you're eligible again in 2026. The government wants to track your health over time, which is also why they save your records digitally. Think of it as a regular health update for your whole family, completely free of cost.
Tests depend on your age. Infants get Hb test. Adults aged 18–40 get CBC, blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney function, and urine tests. People above 40 also get TSH (thyroid), PSA, and cancer screening (VIA/PAP smear). In total, 25+ tests are available.
If any disease or health issue is detected during the Nirogi Haryana Yojana checkup, the government provides complete specialist treatment — also completely free of charge.
Likely not in Phase 1, since priority is given to verified Antyodaya families. Update your Family ID income details at meraparivar.haryana.gov.in or visit your nearest CSC center before the health team arrives in your area.
